15th Annual SASF Invitational Basketball Tournament Information


The Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation (SASF) is sponsoring its 15th Annual SASF New Year Classic Invitational Basketball Tournament on March 28, 29, & 30, 2008 in Sacramento, California.  All boys and girls teams in your organization are invited to participate in our tournament.  Copies of this invitation may be distributed to all the teams in your organization. 

Our tournament includes boys and girls teams from “E” Division through high school seniors and emphasizes friendship, sportsmanship, and family participation.  The SASF is a not for profit

501 (c) (3) organization and proceeds from the tournament go toward the support of our new community/recreational facility.  Invitations have been sent to more teams than slots available and we urge you to respond as soon as possible

Entry Fee:              $360 per team for all divisions

Due Dates:              December 28, 2007 - Entry Fee and Roster Form

                            February 8, 2008 - Player Medical & Liability Release Agreement Form

                            February 8, 2008 - Last day for any revisions to the tournament roster

Registration

For accuracy and readability, teams must complete the roster form using the electronic version available from our web site (www.sasfquest.org/bbtourney/).  

  1. Go to http://www.sasfquest.org/bbtourney/   Click on the "Online Registration" button.
  2. Click on the "New Roster" button.  (The "Update Roster" button is used to update information for a previously submitted roster.)
  3. Upon completion of the required information form, click on the "Submit Roster" button.  Print a copy of the confirmation page that is presented and mail to the address below.  The roster information will be submitted electronically to SASF's database.
  4. Also upon completion of the roster information, you may obtain a copy of the medical release form (which will now contain your players’ names) by clicking on the “medical release” button. 
  5. The copy of the roster form, $360 entry fee and signed medical release form must be mailed to:

  1. Rosters will not be considered entered until a check is received.  One check per roster.

Other Important Tournament Information:

  • Teams entered in the “Roster Division”, must be composed of players who were on the league roster and have played on your team during your basketball league.  Complete the field identifying the league in which your team played in.  The addition of players who did not normally play on the team during the league must be identified.  A written waiver to the tournament committee must be submitted and approved prior to player acceptance into the tournament. 
  • Players in the “Open Division” must be identified if they are high school basketball players. 
  • Teams in either the “Roster” or “Open” divisions who have not disclosed their high school players (players on a 9th to 12th grade school team roster) on their roster or written waiver request will be subject to rejection from the tournament, forfeiture of games, and/or exclusion of the player from participation in the tournament. 
  • If roster revisions are required after the submittal of the roster form, you must re-enter the web site and hit “Update Roster” button.  Follow the instructions on the web site for submitting revisions then mail the printed revised roster form and revised signed medical release form to Arlene Matsuura (page 1).  (Please note that your roster confirmation number will incrementally change each time a revision is submitted so you will have to log-in with the latest roster confirmation number.)  Roster revisions will not be considered until a revised hard copy is received.  All roster revisions are subject to the approval of the Tournament Committee.  Roster changes will not be accepted after February 8, 2008. 
  • Teams will be notified at the end of January 2008 on their acceptance into the tournament.  Upon acceptance, entry fees are non-refundable.  We reserve the right to move teams into other divisions in the best interest of the tournament. 
  • Online registration information entered incompletely or inaccurately, may jeopardize your team’s admission to the tournament.
