Jerry Sasano Scholarship

Once again, the SASF/Jerry Sasano Memorial Scholarship is available this year to one Senior high school student. The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC/ASIA) are helping to make memorial scholarships in Jerry’s name a reality. Along with a matching contribution from the Ronald McDonald House Charities, I am pleased to make available one $1,000 scholarship through the RMHC program.

This year, in addition to the $1,000 scholarship through the RMHC program, the SASF/Jerry Sasano Memorial Scholarship will present an additional $1,000 to the recipient for their 2nd year in college. In order for the recipient to receive the additional $1,000, they will need to show proof of college admission for the 2nd year. The total scholarship will be for $2,000.00. The applicants for this scholarship will be required to write an essay answer to this question:

“As a player on an organized sports/basketball team, what was the most valuable lesson/experience that you learned?”

Since this essay question is NOT a part of RMHC/ASIA criteria, I, along with a committee of 3 people will review the essays and select the recipient based on their answer to the above question. The application and the essay answer is all that is needed. Applicants must reside in the Sacramento County to be considered for this scholarship.
